Announcement The Healing Power of Art: The Helping Hands/Healing Hands Art Challenge Details

Does art have the power to relate a positive message to someone in need? How can you use your hands to help others? A new art challenge invites K-12 students to create a work of art using the theme of hands, and is open to artwork in any medium.

The Helping Hands/Healing Hands Art Challenge is inspired by the new public television documentary film, “Working Class: Helping & Healing,” which is available on demand through WVIA and PBS and on the http://workingclass.tv website.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and WVIA Public Media, producers of the Working Class public television series, invite elementary, middle and high school students to enter the challenge.

Deadline for entries is June 3, 2019. Awards will be presented in two categories: K-6th grades and 7-12 grades. The selected artist in each category will receive a selection of art supplies and books.

Entries will be accepted on The Gallery at Penn College website.
Teachers and parents may direct questions to Penny Lutz, director of The Gallery at Penn College, at gallery@pct.edu
